Green With Envy

I've had a realization; Everything that I go crazy for has an element of green in it.  Apart from Harley.  Green has always been my favorite colour.  Now I'm starting to see a pattern with how that came about;

When I was little and I saw the Wizard of Oz, I loved the Wicked Witch.  I loved her green skin, her crazy evil laugh and her long flowing black cloak.  Everyone else was terrified of her, but here was me sitting thinking; 'That witch is so kewl.'  That I think was when I first 'fell' for a villain in a movie.  But I kept it quiet, because...well, you're not supposed to like the bad guy.  (I was only like...6 or 7 at the time.)  

Mean while as I got older I got into comic books and cartoons based on them; X Men, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, TMNT, ect...and then I discovered Batman the Animated series.  That was my introduction to the Batman.  And of course, my introduction to the Joker.  Similarly to The Wizard of Oz where I fell for the villain, the same thing happened again.  I only realized literally while drawing this that both of them had major elements of green to them.

I went to See the stage Musical Wicked when I was in London seven years ago.  And I remembered how much I loved the witch.  Elphaba is one of my favorite characters ever invented because I feel like I can relate to her completely.  She's strange, thinks differently from everyone around her and is passionate about the things she believes in.

Anyway, Iwas sitting watching the Wizard of Oz the other night and this image popped in my head, so I grabbed my sketch book and drew it.  I still love Harley and I'm not shipping Elphaba and Joker at all, (bad idea) but I just love the idea of Joker and Elphie kissing because of my love for both of them being so obviously interconnected.  But I'm not one for sappy stuff, or head cannons or shipping, so I made it funny and threw Harley in there.  No matter what happens, Joker and Harley will always be my favorite couple in fiction ever, and I doubt Harley would let Joker get away with stuff like this.  But at the same time...can you blame him?!
