Carock

Carock, the fourth boss from The Legend of Zelda, The Adventure of Link.

Carock is a red robed sprite. Its body and head is hidden beneath the cloak. Only two glowing white eyes shine out from the cloak. In my version, I gave him a birdlike appearance, using a crow skull as reference. I also made it look as if the cloak is in fact fused to whatever its body is, though the body itself is invisible. The game makes it unclear as to exactly what this entity is. Is it the ghost of the magician that appears in the manual? They share a striking resemblance. Who knows. It was quite an interesting one to read up on.

In later games Carock appears along side normal mobs, and sometimes as a minniboss. In the console games such as wind waker and ocarina of time, they are birdlike humanoids with a more solid body mass and not nearly as intimidating or as scary as this thing was.
